Robert Paul Dalesio, Sr., 87, of Washington, died Tuesday, July 12, 2022, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
He was born July 28, 1934, in Avella, a son of Anthony and Eva Gazur Dalesio.
Mr. Dalesio was a graduate of Avella High School and attended the Houston United Methodist Church.
Bob was a long-time iron worker, working out of Iron Workers Local #3 in Pittsburgh and retired from the Avella School District where he was a custodian.
He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served from July 1951 until July 1955 and was a member of the American Legion Post #643 in Avella.
Mr. Dalesio was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and was very proud to have built his own experimental aircraft.
Bob loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing and being with nature.
On May 2, 1959, he married Faith Toland who survives.
Also surviving are, two sons, Robert Paul Dalesio, Jr. (Stacy) of Avella and Dale L. Dalesio (Mary) of Canonsburg; a daughter, Dana Falosk (Matthew) of Washington; four grandchildren, Brandon and Shannon Dalesio, Leann Knotts (Josh) and Madeline Dalesio; two great grandchildren, Delaney and Kendall Knotts; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his parents are four brothers and three sisters.
Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday July 26, 2022, in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, with full military honors by the Honor Guard from American Legion Post #643 in Avella.
