Robert Shuba Obituary

Robert “Pap” Shuba, 87, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 13, 2024, in his home with family at his side.

He was born October 1, 1936, in Canonsburg, a son of the late George and Caroline Lombardi Shuba.

Mr. Shuba was a 1956 graduate of Chartiers High School where he played football.

Following high school, he worked in commercial construction and then worked for 30 years as a coal miner, retiring in 1996.

Bob was a lifelong farmer, raising beef cattle, chickens and pigs. He enjoyed being outdoors, spending time at his camp in Warren County near Hearts Content, hunting, fishing and riding his quad.

Robert had attended Chartiers Cross Roads Presbyterian Church.

On January 10, 1959, he married Suzanne Ezersky his wife of 65 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Terry Shuba (Mary) of Washington, Scott Shuba (Tonya) of Simpsonville, SC and Mark Shuba (Donna) of Fountain Inn, SC; 11 grandchildren, Sarah Shuba, Joshua Shuba (Rachael), Zachary Shuba (Jean), Benjamin Shuba, Lindsay Sheets (Christian), Andrew Shuba (Courtney), Lauren Newton (Tyler), Emily Vreeland (Mark), Lauren Shuba, Caroline Shuba and Emily Dixon; nine great grandchildren, Nathan, James, Ella, Austin, Sophie and Lincoln Shuba and Walker, Hadley and Amelia Sheets; two brothers, Louis Shuba (Priscilla) of Gettysburg and Edward Shuba (Judy) of Washington; two sisters, Mary Ann Bazzoli of Washington and Carol Skowvron (Jon) of Garner, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Kacey Coen Shuba.

Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the time of service, Saturday, February 17, 2024, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342.  Services will begin at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Sue Petritis officiating.
