Sarah Ethel Barney, 101, of Eighty Four, passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 14, 2021 in McMurray Hills Manor, McMurray.
She was born December 25, 1919 in Eighty Four, a daughter of Boyd and Myrtle Hamilton Stewart.
Sarah was a graduate of Trinity High School and a member of the Thomas Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Barney was a glass painter at the Washington Company for 32 years. She had also worked at the Country Boy Convenience Store in Canonsburg, the Eighty Four Convenience Store until she was 92 and had volunteered at the Washington Hospital for 45 years.
On July 29, 1943, she married Norman A. Barney who died May 7, 1994.
Surviving are a son, Gary Lee Barney of Eighty Four; two grandsons, Jesse and Jared Barney; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two sisters, Hazel Morrison and Violet Ross.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. the time of service, Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342 where services will begin at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
Due to present circumstances, masks must be worn and social distancing should be followed.
Interment will be private.
