Shanning G White Jr.

Shanning G. White Jr., 88, of Eighty Four, died Tuesday, January 10, 2023, in Premier Washington Health Center.

He was born November 12, 1934, in Hammond, Ind., a son of the late Shanning Sr. and Geraldine Lauther White.

Mr. White was a 1953 graduate of Chartiers Township High School.

He had worked for 32 years as a truck driver and equipment operator for Gregg Inc. and as a Van Driver for Presbyterian Senior Care from 2001 to 2012.

Shanning was in the National Guard for four years.

Mr. White attended the Cokeburg Presbyterian Church.

On March 27, 1954, he married Connie Pallaria, who survives.

Also surviving are: two sons, Raymond White (Penny) of Hickory and Robert White (Donna) of Taylorsville, NC; five grandchildren, Heather Tkach, Angelo Sartori (Heather), Jason White (Kathi), Adam White (Miranda), and Sara Walker (Dusty); 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A son, Ronald White, and a sister, Barbara Lengyel, are deceased.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 Thursday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at Noon, Friday, January 13, 2023, with Pastor Fran Skariot officiating.  Interment following in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
