Eva M. Patmon, 94, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, May 26, 2016, in Canonsburg Hospital.
She was born March 15, 1922, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Alfred and Eugenia Robertson Anthony.
Mrs. Patmon was a lifelong member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Canonsburg, where she served on the usher board and was a member of the Celestial Choir.
She enjoyed knitting, collecting many pretty little things, watching soap operas and reading magazines and books.
Mrs. Patmon loved to take care of family and friends. She was an elegant and gracious hostess with old time values. When asked how she was, she always replied “I’m still sticking together”.
In 1964, she married Robert H. Patmon, who died in 1981.
Surviving are: four children, Robert Patmon (Norma) of Manilla, Philippines, Charlotte McAllister (Ron) of Follansbee, WV, Marilee Lett of Washington and Charles Patmon (Joyce) of San Diego, CA; 32 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren; 54 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Eugenia Coffey of Homestead; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are: two sons, William “Sugar” and Gaines “Buddy” Patmon; three brothers, John, Thomas and Alfred Anthony; and a sister, Nettie Bullitt.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m., Thursday, June 2, 2016, in Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Canonsburg, where services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
