Dear Monte and Wilma,
How sad I am to hear of Barbara's passing. She was such a strong presence in our special education program at Lackland, and her students loved her. She had such a great sense of humor, and I feel as if she's about to say something to me from her picture on the memorial page. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you in the loss of both parents so close together. I'm sending loving wishes for your comfort.
Jan Austin (former counselor at Lackland High School)

Barbara was an integral part of the Lackland Stacey special education department. Barbara wanted the students she worked with to be successful in school but more importantly in life. Her students loved her and many kept in contact. What a legacy she leaves with all of her students. For me, she was the person I could talk to and was my friend. Will miss you Barbara.

Barbara Chandler was the best friend ever. She will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I worked with Barbara for years and she was a joy to work with. Her moving from San Antonio was a loss for me but her spirit and friendship will live forever. Mary Rue

Moms stay in a very special part of our hearts even after they pass. The heart that your mother had for others is a rare gift to the many people who had the privilege to know her and be blessed by her. I am deeply sorry to hear of your loss.
