Josephine A. Penrose, 93, of Houston, died Saturday, December 17, 2016 in the Townview Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg.

She was born July 26, 1923 in Braddock, a daughter of Michael and Mary Turkowski Bujakowski who had immigrated from Ruda, Poland.

Mrs. Penrose was a graduate of Braddock High School.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Meadow Lands, where she belonged to the Christian Mothers and Guild and the Rosary Society.

Mrs. Penrose worked for 15 years for Federal Paper Board as a feeder and quality control inspector then for Mancuso Printing Shop as a cutter and feeder for 10 years retiring in 1989.

On December 25, 1945, she married Harry Penrose who passed away in October of 1973.

Surviving are two sons, Clyde Penrose of Phoenix, AZ and James E. Penrose of Canonsburg; five grandchildren, Christina Willis (Travis), Michael Penrose (Joy), Steven Penrose (Gressa), James Penrose II (Jennifer) and William Syriyapai; eight great grandchildren, Kylie and Austin Willis, Emma, Jacob and Lauren Penrose, Trenton Sweigart, Bailey Butcher and Noah Riggs; a daughter-in-law, Carol Penrose of New Castle, IN; two brothers, Michael Branden of Aliquippa and Francis Bujakowski of North Versailles and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a son, Harry Penrose; a granddaughter and her husband Stacey and Jason Sweigart; two brothers and 8 sisters.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Wednesday in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 22, 2016 in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Meadow Lands, with Rev. Carmen D’Amico as celebrant.  Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Christian Mothers and Guild of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 300 Pike St., Meadow Lands, PA 15347.
