Linda P. Pegher

Linda P. Pegher, 67, of Charters Twp., died Tuesday, September 20, 2016, in Washington Hospital.

She was born June 25, 1949, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Robert J. Pegher and Ruth E. Smith Pegher Eckler.

Ms. Pegher was a 1967 graduate of Langley High School and a 1971 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.

She had worked as an Income Maintenance Examiner for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in Pittsburgh for 35 years, retiring in 2007.

Ms. Pegher enjoyed knitting, reading, online shopping and loved spoiling her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Surviving are: a sister, Jacquelyn Shober (Harlan) of Chartiers Twp.; a brother, Robert J. Pegher of Crafton; three nieces, Stacey Simpson (Mark), Dawn Jardini (David) and Greta Pegher (John Holieb); three nephews, Harlan L. Shober (Melissa), Dean Shober (Jodi) and Vincent Pegher (Amber Oaks); 12 grandnieces, Jordan and Madison Simpson, Macie, Jaylyn and Hope Shober,  J.J., Rinnie and Gracie Jardini, Claire Ann Holieb and Kyla, Shana and Camilla Pegher; and four grandnephews, Ethan, Haiden and Harlan L. Shober Jr. and Evan Simpson.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Friday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where a Blessing Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016, with Rev. George Chortos officiating.  Interment will follow in Woodruff Memorial Park, North Strabane Twp.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 331 S. Main St., Washington, PA 15301.
