Shirley M. Camp, age 88, of Canton, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 20, 2017. She was born November 6, 1928 in Canton, a daughter of Charles and Gertrude (Cox) Zinninger.
Shirley was a 1947 graduate of Lincoln High School. On February 23, 1952, she married Ted K. Camp who passed away February 26, 2013. With her husband, they were charter members of Greenwood Christian Church where she was active until her death. She was a member of the Suburbia Garden Club and enjoyed golfing, synchronized swimming and music of all genres.
Her work career started as a secretary for Hercules Motors, then US Department of Navy in Washington DC and Alexandria, Virginia. After moving back to Canton she was a secretary for Walsh College and the Avondale Homeowners Association.
She is survived by two daughters, Lori Clark and her husband Kim with whom she resided, Cheri McIlvaine and her husband Rob of Washington, PA, 4 grandchildren, Aaron Clark, Amanda Clark Tanruther (Steve), Craig and Sara McIlvaine.
Preceding her in death were four sisters and three brothers.
Family and friends will be received from 4-7p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 10:45 Thursday in the Greenwood Christian Church where services will begin at 11:00a.m. with Tony Amerine officiating. Interment will follow in North Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the worship and music ministry of the Greenwood Christian Church 4425 Frazer Ave. N.W.
