Peter Korica Jr., 81, of Washington, died unexpectedly Saturday, November 11, 2017 in the Washington Hospital.
He was born November 1, 1936 in Bridgeville, a son of Peter and Katherine Klaich Korica Sr.
Mr. Korica was a graduate of Bridgeville High School.
He served with the US Army Signal Corps. from November 1959 to February 1962.
For 22 years, he worked for Papercraft of Blawnox as a system analyst and data processing manager, retiring in 1985. Following his retirement, he partnered with his brother to form Korica Sunrooms of Canonsburg for 2 years.
He belonged to the American Legion Post #902 of Houston and the Houston Independent Club.
Mr. Korica was an avid golfer and belonged to the league at Village Green Golf Course. He also enjoyed boating.
On April 11, 1959 he married Joyce Dielsi who died December 20, 2011.
Surviving are a sister, Helen Fatigati of Cecil; a sister in law, Yvonne Korica of S. Fayette Twp.; his loving companion of two years, Shirley Mucha of Peters Twp.; loving nieces , Valerie Harper (Chuck), Mary Jo Groves (Rob), Joyce Shaw (Kevin), Karen Gilchrist (Rob), Vicki Geffrey (Michael) and nephews, Bill Fatigati Jr. (Diane) and Veto Asti, Jr.; and many great nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Emil Korica; two sisters, Mary Drexler and her husband Joseph and Emilie Asti and her husband Veto; and a brother in law, Bill Fatigati.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Wednesday in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2017 in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors provided by the Honor Guard from VFW Post 191, Canonsburg. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contribution to the Donnell House, 10 Leet St., Washington, PA 15301.
